I’m Niki,

Take your photoshoot concepts and bring them to life. Use my creative eye, honed by my extensive world travel, with a dash of french flair, and sense of style to elevate your photoshoot. I love coming up with concepts or joining a team to help bring your concept to life.

Colour Consulting

Choosing the right colours for your space is essential. Your environment is everything, the right paint colour transforms a space, the wrong one leaves it feeling blah. I have a uniquely honed and trained eye that will help you find just the right hue for your home.

Interiors Consulting

Our spaces are both a reflection of us and have a big impact on us. I love that when I walk into someone’s home and I can very quickly see the threads of what they’re interested in, what colours they like and who they are. What I do is take what you already have and elevate and refine it.

Option 1: An outside eye. You already have most of what you need but it isn’t quite there yet. Sometimes you just need an outside eye to bounce ideas off of and find the. I love consulting on that. I come in for a 90 minute consulting session, look at what you’ve got already and hear your ideas and challenges. I give you a quick and dirty “this is what I think”, and you take it and run with it.

Option 2: The Experience. We take option one, and elevate it with a shopping experience. I take you to my favourite spots and together we find the perfect pieces for your space.

One of my deepest passions in life is beauty.

Beauty, to me, is so much more than aesthetics. True beauty puts us in touch with awe - an inner rhythm and harmony. When we’re in rhythm with ourselves and nature, we’re more in tune with the world. Beauty begets joy and pleasure. To me those are everything but frivolous; they are sacred pillars of a rich and fulfilling life.

I believe we are better when we are surrounded by nature and having reminders of nature in our homes brings out the best in us. How we arrange our homes and how we adorn our spaces with colourful bouquets correlates with how we feel. When we shift our spaces, we shift our moods. When we shift our moods it shifts how we walk in the world. When we shift the way we walk in the world, that has a direct impact on the relationships we have. In short, flowers are therapeutic.

Flowers and beauty have been weaving their magic into my life since I would walk through the gardens of the women I looked up to as a child: my mother, my grandmothers, & my aunts. I saw the pride and pleasure that tending to beauty gave to these women and wanted to create that for myself and for others.

This is why I created Piknik Designs, to bring this profound pleasure and joy of flowers and beautiful spaces to you through all that I do: custom and pre-crafted bouquets, floral design workshops, styling for photoshoots as well as colour and interiors consulting.

When not arranging beautiful rooms and blooms, I can be found cooking up delicious food, dancing to juicy beats, laughing & philosophizing with friends & family, and bathing in the forests and oceans of my homeland of Vancouver. I give thanks to the xʷməθkʷəy̓əm (Musqueam), Sḵwx̱wú7mesh (Squamish), and səlilwətaɬ (Tsleil-Waututh) peoples, the original stewards of these lands.
